It hits for 18 damage in a 4-player game on its own, and any sort of on-combat benefits really push it over the top

It did feel like Orrery had started to feel like skipping a turn, and having a Faerie Wizard typing opens this card up to many, many creature focused builds that arent straight up spellslinger
While being a sorcery does weaken it a bit, it's a big upgrade to other cards with similar effects, and especially strong in Final Fantasy Limited formats
Facilier on board with Madam Mim, you exert her to Rush out Lefou, when he enters play you ready Madam Mim and then challenge something with Lefou that banishes him
And by this I mean that four toughness was a lot for a four mana flyer with an already game-breaking ability
